Earlier this week I had the honour of attending the inaugural meeting of the first ever Women’s Fund in Auckland. Gathering with my fellow founding members, we came together on #GivingTuesday to collaborate, share our vision and agree on its charter.

100 Women

While we are starting as a small group, the vision is to have 100 women contributing within the next year.

Our reasons for joining are personal and varied, but we all share a common thread that aligns with the principle of the Women’s Fund, which is ‘the strength of women and the dreams of girls’.

For myself, as a woman in my 40’s with an established career, I count my blessings on the support I have around me and the support I can provide my teenage daughter. I know that there are a lot of women and girls within our community that may not have that same support and it is with this in mind that I want to share and encourage other women to join us in giving collaboratively and making an impact. An impact that is proudly female. An impact that cares and nurtures. An impact that promotes independence. An impact that builds resilience.

Having the opportunity to join a collaborative group of women that are focused on the future of our fellow women and girls is something I encourage you to check out here.

I hope you can join me in becoming one of the first 100 women – and please, feel free to share this with other women you know.
